Articles:
Connections will consider original articles on a wide variety of unschooling and mindful parenting topics. Articles suitable for publication in our ezine generally fall into the following three categories:

  • illustrating unschooling or mindful parenting in action,
  • deepening our understanding of unschooling or mindful parenting as philosophies,
  • inspiring others on their unschooling or mindful parenting journey.

Length is less important than a clear, compelling point; the advantage of an online venue is that pages don't have to fit together or fill space. Subject matter should determine length—write as much as you need to get your point across.

However, writing should be clear, specific and concise, with each word serving a careful purpose within the overall piece. Articles will be edited for clarity, and the editor is happy to work with authors on content and expression when the topic or draft is particularly promising.

Payment for accepted articles is either a one-year subscription to Connections or a free, six-month listing in our Marketplace section.

To submit articles for review, please send an initial query with the title and a brief description of the piece or the first paragraph to submissions@organiclearning.org

Photographs:
Send us your photos of unschooling in action!

Individual photos or mini photo documentaries are welcome. We're looking for pictures that tell a story within themselves, without words.

To submit photos for review, please send them as attachments to snapshots@organiclearning.org

Mouth Off:
"Mouth Off" showcases talent, perspectives and passions of unschoolers themselves, regardless of age. Submit your art, reviews, writing and opinions to mouthoff@organiclearning.org

Reviews:
Have something you'd like to see reviewed in Connections—a book, website, magazine, toy, tool, game, film, CD? Drop us an email telling us what you'd like us to review, where to find it and why at reviews@organiclearning.org

Resources:
Have something you'd like us to include in our "Resources" section? Drop us an email telling us about the resource and how it's been valuable in your own unschooling or mindful parenting journey at resources@organiclearning.org
