I can't tell you how happy I was to learn of your new ezine! I've "known" all of you for so many years as a longtime lurker on so many lists and through various publications. A new venue is such a welcome addition to my (our) support network.
I have often thought about what I could offer in terms of urban unschooling (we live in the heart of NYC) and your ezine may be just the thing to prod me into writing an essay. There are so few urban unschooling voices out there besides Deb in Chicago.
Please let Annie O know that my son read the interview her sons so generously gave and LOVED it! He's 12 and feeling quite alone right now in his free and unfettered life. It was great for him to hear from some other boys his age.
So thanks for all that you do, say and write for the rest of us.
Best,
Barbara
This is great! I'm so excited. After I finished reading—and looking at all the cute pix of kids doing fun things—I was inspired to go out and Play on the Swing Set! What a hoot. Mo has been showing me how to "spin" the swings. I knew how to do it from a standstill, but I hadn't ever twisted up the chains while actually swinging before. Its soooooo much fun. We spent a good hour inventing new swing tricks and trying to take pix of each other. Lots of shots of the sun—it's tough to frame a shot when you're swinging, twisting, and hanging upside-down.
This is the Life!

I am ecstatic to see you have started the zine, I often can't read all I want, and this seems like a microcosm of everything important. My son is fascinated with robots and we have already gotten a lot from that MAKE magazine that was featured in issue 0 and I loved the section about incubating eggs.....
.....connections has already helped us connect more to our passions and I hadn't even subscribed yet! So thank you for putting this out there.
Warmly,
